Military kit is judged on one thing: does it work when it counts. No second attempt, no “it usually runs fine.” That’s the standard we build to, and there’s no reason a civilian shooter should get less. So we built CM for 6.5 specifically, rather than telling you a .30 cal is close enough. The bore is cut for .264, so less gas escapes into the open and muzzle sound drops further. That same tight fit does something you’ll appreciate more at last light than on paper: unburnt powder stays inside the can, where it has the room and time to finish burning instead of lighting up in front of you. Low report, low flash, and your night vision intact for the follow-up. The part most people skip is that “6.5” isn’t one problem, the family runs from 6.5 Grendel all the way up to 6.5 PRC, and the pressure and powder charge climb sharply across that span. Grendel is a mild, low pressure round; Creedmoor tops out around 62,000 psi under SAAMI; PRC reaches 65,000 while burning roughly a third more powder, worth about 250 fps more velocity from the same barrel. More powder means more gas volume and more heat arriving at the suppressor. So we sized CM’s internal volume and geometry to regulate across the whole envelope, with design features that only come into play at the higher pressure regimes. The result is a can built for the hottest cartridge in the family, with the milder ones sitting comfortably inside the envelope rather than at the edge of it. This is a limited drop of only 300 units for the 6.5 purists, and when they’re gone we’re not making more.
