AKBAR (AKB) represents CAT’s deliberate push to build the highest combined performance .30CAL suppressor possible. Despite the name and character, AKB is not a dedicated AK47 or 7.62×39 suppressor like ODB. The designation reflects its origin within the CAT community, the segment of our fanbase (who we lovingly refer to as the mental terrorists) that challenged a historically caliber specific brand to produce a single, truly optimized generic .30CAL system. Designed as a true multi-host suppressor, AKB delivers consistent, repeatable performance across DI, piston, bolt action, and modern gas gun platforms. Its internal architecture is engineered to tolerate the high gas loads associated with short barrel combat rifles while maintaining controlled, predictable back pressure on precision and long range platforms. AKB is not a replacement for the ODB, nor does it attempt to out-specialize CAT’s dedicated designs. Instead, it occupies a distinct role of a true .30CAL generalist, engineered to perform reliably and consistently across a broad spectrum of rifles and operating systems.
